St. Joseph Youth Chorus
This year, St. Joseph Parish is once again offering our fun and exciting Choral Program to all interested parishioners and School students in grades 5, 6, 7, and 8. This program, directed by Mrs. Barbara Kovacs, is designed to add to the musical education of the students, as well as giving these young people an opportunity to experience the joy and satisfaction of singing with a large group.
Making music is an important part of a student's development, encouraging discipline and responsibility, while having lots of fun at the same time. We've had some wonderful performances over the past few years, and this year's will be superb as well!
We are inviting all youth of the parish in grades 5-8 to join the group, which will have the name of the St. Joseph Youth Chorus.
The rehearsals for the Fall/Christmas Season will begin on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 5:30pm, and continue once per week on Thursdays from 5:30-7pm in the church. Students will have another opportunity to register for the Spring Season 2011 after the New Year. In order to register, please email Mrs. Kovacs at bkhmusic@aol.com with your child's name, grade, and school name. Please then fill out the attached "contract" and have your child bring it to the first rehearsal.
We've all enjoyed our Chorus Program over the last five years, as well as the enthusiasm and support of the students, parents, and faculty at St. Joseph Parish and School. We all are looking forward to continuing the musical traditions in our Church, as well as helping our next generation of musicians forge new ones. This will be an exciting year for the young musicians at St. Joseph!
